 The HANA-Umami Black features a diamond cantilever and new “OKD” High-Efficiency Moving Coil Generator. A tribute to the designer Masao Okada, the OKD incorporates an Integrated Pole Piece and Rear Yoke together with an Inverted U-shaped Front Yoke,

The Umami Black uses the rare earth neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnet and a 2mm square hybrid Carbon permalloy armature. Precisely wound with 30-micron, 4N high-purity copper wire, it has an output of 0.3mV and 5-ohm impedance. The Umami Black Urushi lacquer finish is applied with a specialized thermosetting process, bonding to the aluminum body via vapor deposition.
