It’s said that good things sometimes come in small packages, and Vienna Acoustics certainly seemed to subscribe to that theory with the release of its new Haydn Grand Commemorative Special Edition bookshelf monitors ($1800/pair), with production limited to 500 pairs worldwide.

At first glance the Special Edition seems fairly similar to the standard Haydn Grand, but closer inspection reveals the use of better mid-bass drivers, hot-rodded crossover components, a distinctive select walnut veneer finish, and one-of-a-kind rear panels featuring a silhouette of Joseph Haydn and a facsimile of his signature, plus hand-marked serial numbers.
