June 2024 – Linkwitz Audio has developed a new acrylic top section for its LX521 speaker. According to our discussions with Frank Brenner, CEO of Linkwitz, the unusual shape of the top section is necessitated by the advanced acoustical model used for the LX521. Siegfried Linkwitz initially developed the shape based on his research into the impact of radiation patterns on imaging. Some consumers wanted a different look for this piece of the speaker, leading Linkwitz to offer various finishes and in this new version to make the panel itself ‘disappear’.
