From the latter half of 2013 to the present, the www.hifiplus.com content archives have slowly but surely been filled with hundreds of articles originally published on AVguide.com and in Playback and The Perfect Vision magazines.
How did this come to pass? The short answer is that yours truly, Publisher of Hi-Fi+, was once the Editor/Publisher of AVguide.com and the Editor of both Playback and The Perfect Vision. When I came to the Hi-Fi+ team and helped drive the creation of our website, I thought it might be useful to bring along much of the online content from my previous publications for our readers’ edification and enjoyment.
What Have We Here? All told, we’ve added roughly 800+ articles drawn from the sources cited above, including news items, show reports, blogs, and of course product reviews. New-to-you content includes:
Reviews and articles from Hi-Fi+ (roughly 100+ articles)
· Long before Hi-Fi+ had a proper web site of its own, a selection of the magazine’s material was published online in AVguide.com. That material is now part of the ever-expanding content archives on www.hifiplus.com.
Reviews and articles from Playback (approximately 410 articles)
· Playback was an eclectic high-end audio publication that took a keen interest in products offering affordable excellence, including traditional audio components plus headphones, earphones, and headphone-related electronics.
Reviews and articles from The Perfect Vision (approximately 290 articles)
· The Perfect Vision was to home theatre what Hi-Fi+ is to high-end audio, meaning that it sought out and reviewed components that gave qualitatively superior results. Though not all high-end audio enthusiasts care about home theatre, we want you to know The Perfect Vision always took a high-end, music-first, quality-minded stance toward HT components. For this reason, we hope readers—and especially those who use combination home theatre/music systems—will find our TPV back catalogue of interest.
If you have a chance, do have a look at some of the new material on offer. We hope you’ll like what you see, even if only to chart the evolution of audio products over the past several years. Enjoy.
