June 2022 – Nextscreen, LLC—producers of The Absolute Sound network, the hi-fi+ network, and the Winding Road network—is pleased to announce that highly respected audio journalist Michael Fremer has joined The Absolute Sound network as Senior Editor.
“Michael is well known as one of a small handful of expert reviewers of analog audio equipment in the world,” said Robert Harley, Editor-In-Chief of The Absolute Sound magazine. “Michael’s in-depth knowledge of analog gear and production, along with his extensive experience reviewing the best speakers and electronics, makes him a perfect fit with our expert editors who focus on state-of-art equipment, including Jonathan Valin, Neil Gader, Jacob Heilbrunn, Robert E. Greene, Anthony H. Cordesman, Dick Olsher, and Paul Seydor.”
In addition to his return to the pages of The Absolute Sound magazine, where he started his reviewing career, Fremer will provide exclusive content to The Absolute Sound network. “We are excited that Michael will produce a series of videos from his manufacturer, recording industry, and audio show visits for The Absolute Sound channel on YouTube,” said Tom Martin, CEO of Nextscreen, LLC. “In addition, we have asked Michael to produce a series of interviews for The Absolute Sound on YouTube, which we think will be quite entertaining for lovers of the audio arts.”
In addition to this work, Fremer will be developing the analog-focused website TrackingAngle.com. Fremer said, “The relationship between TAS and TrackingAngle will be strong and one of sharing and cooperation.” Specifically, Michael will share some of his TrackingAngle work with readers and viewers of The Absolute Sound and hi-fi+ networks. Martin pointed out that “Nextscreen is particularly excited that Michael wants to bring his expert coverage to all analog price points. This is in perfect harmony with our greatly expanded global efforts to reach audiophiles of all ages and stages of the audio journey.”
Fremer will begin work with The Absolute Sound on June 15, so readers and industry partners can expect to see the first fruits of this new relationship soon.
