Bluesound is Living HiFi with new TIDAL High Fidelity Music Streaming Service

Pickering, Ontario/Oslo, Norway, October 30, 2014 — Bluesound, the world’s first wireless digital multi-room system to fully support high-res audio, announces the addition of TIDAL, the first High Fidelity music streaming service with HD music videos and curated editorial, to its collection of music services. A recent winner of the UK’s What HiFi? Sound & Vision Best Multiroom System of the Year Award, Bluesound has introduced this latest software release to enable owners to fully integrate TIDAL’s outstanding music service with Bluesound’s superior digital and wireless streaming technology. The resultant partnership allows users to achieve the perfect all-home audio system, which combines the highest quality performance and ease of use with the most complete online CD-quality music service available.

TIDAL is a brand new music streaming service from the creators of WiMP—a popular music streaming service based in Norway—that recently launched in the USA and UK with an extensive music library in lossless 16-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC and ALAC format. Bluesound will be the first of TIDAL’s partners to fully integrate the service into its products, allowing owners to easily stream TIDAL’s library of over 25 million tracks to their HiFi music players through a home network, either via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with simple control on any iOS or Android device.

“Like Bluesound, TIDAL focuses on delivering no-compromise lossless sound quality to maximize the listening experience,” commented John Banks, Chief Brand Officer for Bluesound. “This partnership fits with our mission to bring high quality audio to music enthusiasts everywhere. This is truly Living HiFi and it’s absolutely killer.”

“I cannot express how excited I am to announce that TIDAL is now available inside Bluesound,’ said Pål Bråtelund, Strategic Partnership Manager HiFi at TIDAL. “Bluesound and TIDAL totally share the same mission when it comes to easy access to lossless and high-resolution streaming. It is a giant leap to get back to lossless quality in the streaming world. When we are testing the future of high-resolution streaming, we do it with Bluesound.”

Bluesound owners are able to easily sign up for the TIDAL service directly through the free Bluesound controller App available on all iOS and Android portable devices, as well as a desktop version for PCs and Macs, available for download directly from the Bluesound website. Alternatively, simply sign up for TIDAL’s streaming service at www.tidalhifi.com to hear the music the way it is intended to be heard.
