Apple Acquisition of Sony Rumors Quashed

Apparently Apple’s rapidly rising cash hoard has generated speculation that the company might make a big acquisition. The specific point of interest seems to be Sony, although Adobe and Disney were also mentioned in an article on Saturday in Barron’s. The original author of that speculation, Eric Savitz, made it clear in a blog post today that this was just speculative, not news or even rumor (thought it has become just that). Sony’s stock rose briefly today on the rumors.
