You can read Andrew’s full review of the BACCH-SP in our December issue, now available in print and digital.
Andrew Quint previews the unusual, but no less unique Theoretica Applied Physics BACCH-SP adio Stereo Purifier.
The perennial problem of inter-aural crosstalk and the rise of early, imperfect crosstalk cancellation algorithms led Dr. Edgar Choueiri, founder of Theoretica, and a Professor of Applied Physics in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Princeton University, to improve an XTC filter, eventually creating BACCH: band associated cross talk cancellation hierarchy.
The BACCH filter aims to solve the major well-known shortcomings of earlier XTC schemes; shipped with its own tablet, webcam, and microphones, the BACCH-SP allows the listener to experience spatially accurate 3D sound bringing forth information, especially for two-channel listeners, that hitherto remained forever hidden.
