Jacqui Naylor’s album was recorded entirely on analog tape, from tracking on 16-track 2-inch tape in the legendary Bill Putnam built Coast Recorders studio in San Francisco, then the title was mixed to 1-inch two-track tape by Grammy nominee Michael Romanowski, and mastered by Grammy winner Paul Stubblebine. The finished album was then duplicated in real time on 1/4-inch tape at the Tape Project’s notorious Tape Shed. Jacqui will have her other albums available at the event as well, and you will be able to buy autographed copies and have a chat with one of the most gracious and charming artists in the business.

For the second half of the doubleheader event proceedings, The Tape Project will be unveiling a brand new title, and playing it in its entirety: Jerry Garcia and David Grisman.

The Tape Project to Release Exclusive Music at Event during the CAS

In the 1980’s Jerry Garcia started hanging out over at David Grisman’s house to play together just for fun, sharing the music they both loved. David had a studio in his home, and Jerry and David would do their jamming in the studio, often with two of the musicians from David’s group, with the tape rolling. They did this informal recording over a period of several years, while the pile of their tapes kept getting bigger and bigger. Eventually Jerry suggested that David release the recordings on David’s label, Acoustic Disc. This is the first selection that David pulled from that extensive library. The joy and freshness of these two friends’ spontaneous pickin’ is perfectly captured in high-quality analog recording, and presented now for our enjoyment.

The Tape Project releases great recordings on the world’s best sounding format: reel-to-reel analog tape. While some may promise an analog-like experience, we deliver an all-analog product that’s as close to the master tape as most of us will ever get. Please visit: http://tapeproject.com/
