Berkeley Audio Design Announces Alpha DAC Reference Series 3

The following is a press release issued by Berkeley Audio Design.

February 5, 2019 - Berkeley Audio Design is extremely pleased to announce the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3

Raising the excellence of the Alpha DAC Reference Series to a new level, the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 contains breakthrough technology that redefines the potential of digital audio quality. In addition to its unprecedented PCM audio quality, the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 also includes MQA Rendering of unequaled audio quality to 384kHz and above

Manufacturing each Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 to its full performance potential required development of new hyper-accurate test and alignment procedures that are unique in the industry. The new test and alignment procedures allow extremely precise and repeatable production of the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3.

Experienced industry listeners who have heard the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 are unanimous in their praise, saying that the Reference Series 3 clearly outperforms any other DAC they have heard, including those at six figure retail prices, and even the much admired DAC portion of the Pacific Microsonics Model 2 studio ADC/DAC.

We expect the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 to enter production in late February or early March. The ship time for Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 orders should be about 5 weeks.

The US retail price for the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 is $22,000.00.

It won’t be possible to determine the cost and turnaround time to upgrade a Reference Series or Reference Series 2 to Reference Series 3 technology until 20 or more Reference Series 3’s have been produced since completely new test and alignment manufacturing processes are used for the Alpha DAC Reference Series 3.

Once offering Reference Series 3 technology upgrades is determined to be practicable, Reference Series 2 upgrade requests will be given an opportunity to convert to Reference Series 3 technology upgrades while keeping their existing upgrade priority.
