The following is a press release from Yarlung Records.
Dear TAS Readers,
Grateful as I am for superb music and our talented musicians every day, the Covid-19 self-isolation requirements make me ever-more grateful. As we hunker down and await the change of the season or a new vaccine or a treatment breakthrough, music offers balm to the soul and inspiration for the future. Those of us fortunate enough to have music collections or excellent streaming services are indeed coping better than our friends without.
Yarlung recordings are all available for free on Spotify, and for those of you who wish to support us during this difficult time, our warehouses continue to ship vinyl and CDs on schedule, and our high resolution download sites are functioning normally (NativeDSD, HDTracks).
Particularly worthy of celebration, NativeDSD honored Yarlung musicians with not one, but TWO album of the year awards! Lifeline: Music of the Underground Railroad and Yuko Mabuchi plays Miles Davis each won their respective categories. Here is our announcement.
Thank you to our generous sponsors and executive directors who made these albums possible. These musical successes always take a strong team. Kudos to Toyota North America, Stratton Petit Foundation, Randy & Linda Bellous, Craig & Diane Martin, Ann Mulally, Steven A. Block, Raulee Marcus, Leslie Lassiter, Drs. Antonio & Hanna Damasio, Dr. W. Benton & Mrs. Diane Boone, Phyllis Parvin, Chip & Sharyn Moore, and Carol & Warner Henry.
For our early music lovers, here is a fresh review of Ciaramella Dances from Jane Booth in the UK. This album remains a triumph.
Our next album at the pressing plant is All Things Common: Music by Tarik O’Regan, with Robert Istad conducting Pacific Chorale and Salastina.
Sincerely and best wishes,
Bob Attiyeh
