Speaker Upgrade

I recently purchased a Simaudio 600i Integrated.

I'm currently using a pair of Focal 1008BE II and considering Dynaudio C1 or Joseph Audio Pulsars.

Any suggestions or comments.Thanks.

  • I would suggest looking at your room acoustics before changing speakers.

There may be some cost-effective changes that will improve the sound more than merely changing speakers.

Have you run some frequency sweeps to see if your room has any strong resonance points or suck-outs that ned correction?

    • Well I know to well that my listening room is far from ideal, too much furniture, sound absorbing
materials etc. In the last 2-3 months I've experimented with 3 different Integrateds, speaker wire
positioning. The sound has improved and I wasn't sure the speakers I was looking at would be enough of an improvement..I've had floorstanders in the past but I'm not sure they would work in the room now....more furniture, less options for placement. — rontario February 19, 2013 7:45 p.m.
