Asynchronous USB to SPDIF converter

Would an Asynchronous USB to SPDIF converter be the best link between my computer and Lexicon RV8?

  • Short answer - Yes, but any USB/SPDIF converter will work. MT2Tech, XMOS,and others do use asychronous protocols, but that's not the only thing to look for - you may want a unit that has AES/EBU output if your unit supports it. I know my Lexicon MC-12 sounded best using the AES/EBU input.
