July 2 – The most rewarding aspect of reviewing great hi-fi is discovering products that are stunning great at a reasonable price.
It’s rare for a product to stand out as being clearly superior to everything in its price class, and even rarer when that product competes with products costing three times its price.
Yet that’s just what I discovered when reviewing disc players for the next issue (174) of The Absolute Sound. You’ll need to wait for the issue to see which disc player I’m talking about, but be alerted that this player shatters all previous benchmarks for value in CD playbackâand it costs $1495.
